To request that PTO hours be used for a pay period, use Paylocity. If you are out-of-town, unavailable, or simply have less than 40 hours in a given week (Sunday to Saturday), you can request PTO via Paylocity, which will add hours to your pay period if applicable. There are several rules:
1) The deadline to submit PTO Requests is the Saturday before Pay Date (aka the last day of that Pay Period). Yes, you can submit it at 11:59 PM Saturday, or even better, fill it out weeks ahead of time.
2) PTO cannot be used to go above 40 hours in a week. (In Paylocity, instead of typing "Bring to 40", simply request a lot of hours and we’ll check and manually ensure you’re at 40 when payroll is processed. For example, if you’re going to be around 36 hours for the week and you want to have 40 hours, request 10 hours of PTO via Paylocity and when we process payroll, we’ll update your PTO request to the specific number to bring you to 40 hours.)
3) The PTO balance must be positive or zero (it cannot be negative).
Note: PTO is separate from Scheduling. Filling out the "PTO Request" via Paylocity helps add hours to your pay period if applicable. Scheduling is separate. If you're unable to work already published shifts, then find coverage. If you're planning ahead for future trips or events, always double check that you have saved your scheduling preferences via ShiftAdmin, including Cannot Work dates/times, by the Scheduling Deadline (1pm on the 1st of even months). You are responsible to find coverage on any weekend or holiday shift(s) for which you are or will be scheduled and intend to take PTO. PTO in itself does not excuse your scheduled weekends or holidays.
